Ever since the discovery of my favorite video game of all time, Descent, I have longed for the techmonkeys at MIT or somewhere to get off their gamer couches and create me an entertainment virtual reality system. I've got a few thousand set aside for the time when somebody gets me 3D Descent with a VR helmet and some tracking gloves.
It looks like these guys took matters into their own hands and moved things a bit closer to a reality. BestBuy? I'm waiting...

How cool. They need to do this really soon. Screw Descent, though. I want to see a virtual reality version of Q-bert or Centipede. Maybe Dig-Dug. If they really want to maximize the VR experience, they would re-make Rootbeer Tapper.

We could actually try this out if you want. I saw this video a while ago and my laptop does have bluetooth and all the needed dev tools installed to run his code...
